Our Matthew 25 ministry embodies the core Catholic values of compassion, service, and love for our neighbors, particularly those in need. Inspired by the Gospel of Matthew (25:35-36 & 40), we strive to live out the call to serve the less fortunate. "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me."
Through our Matthew 25 ministry, we engage in various efforts to serve the needy, such as our monthly food distribution, making sandwiches for organizations that serve the homeless, Thanksgiving food drive, limited financial assistance initiatives & the Christmas Angel Tree. We aim to be a beacon of hope and assistance for those in challenging situations, mirroring the love and care that Christ embodied.
By participating in this ministry, we hope to live up to the profound message of Jesus, reminding ourselves that whatever we do for the least among us, we do it for Christ Himself. It is an embodiment of the Church's dedication to fulfilling the Gospel mandate of love, compassion, and service to all, especially the marginalized.
We are always looking for volunteers. To find out how you can get involved, please call the parish office at 504.891.4479 or email [email protected].
