Recall then that you have received the spiritual seal, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of right judgment and courage, the spirit of knowledge and reverence, the spirit of holy fear in God’s presence. Guard what you have received. God the Father has marked you with his sign; Christ the Lord has confirmed you and has places his pledge, the Spirit, in your hearts. – Saint Ambrose, doctor of the Church.

Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism by a special outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which seals and confirms the baptized in union with Christ and calls them to greater participation in the worship and apostolic life of the Church.

Teens: Confirmation preparation is a two year program for students in ninth grade or higher who wish to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. Classes are held in the Parish Center.  Classes for 9^th and 10th grade will take place Sunday evenings from 5:00-5:50 followed by Mass at 6:00 p.m.   Both Catholic school students in the 11th grade, and those 11th graders who attended High School PSR, will prepare for Confirmation together.  A retreat and the celebration of Confirmation take place in the Spring of junior year. 

Adults: If you are an adult (18+) who is baptized Catholic but not yet confirmed, please contact the Parish Center at 891-4479 for more information. Confirmation is celebrated at St. Francis in the fall and on the Solemnity of Pentecost at the St. Louis Cathedral. Adult Confirmation classes are offered periodically and preparation can also take place on an individual basis.
